Competent Person Training Trenching & Excavations (CPT): 7 - 8 Hours
This 7-8 hour training class covers the CAL- OSHA Title 8, Section 1540 through 1541.1 and Fed OSHA 1926 subpart P requirements pertaining to excavations, trenching and sloping techniques, protective systems and soils classification with an introduction to confined space entry safety.
- Our comprehensive training is essential to keep your company compliant with current OSHA regulations.
- Formative and Summative testing are both utilized to ensure retention.

Confined Space Entry Training (CSE): 5-6 Hours
The Confined Space Entry Training Seminar now includes the new upgraded California and Federal standards for Confined Spaces in Construction.
- Cal OSHA Title 8, Chapter 4, Article 37, 1950-1962
- Fed OSHA 29 cfr 1926 AA 1201-1213
This 5 - 6 hour course is intended to provide managers, foremen, competent persons, and workers with basic information regarding entry into confined spaces. The purpose is to create awareness of hazards associated with confined space entry and also help workers understand procedures to be followed when entering confined spaces.
Competent Person Training Refresher: 3 Hours
This 3 hour training class is a refresher course for Competent Person Training Trenching & Excavations. As a refresher, it covers the CAL- OSHA Title 8, Section 1540 through 1541.1 and Fed OSHA 1926 subpart P. There is special emphasis on trenching and sloping techniques, protective systems and soils classification.
- Training will update participant on the current requirements of the Competent Person
- Training prerequisite is previous CPT training with us
Hazard Awareness Group Training Refresher: 3 Hours
- This 3 hour class prepares new hires and those with new job responsibilities to understand the nature of hazards associated with underground work.
- All employees must be trained on hazards in their working environment.
In Person Custom Training: Duration Varies
- You can book any of our trench safety classes, or request a customized training tailored to your needs. Custon In Person Training is quoted based on day of the week, location and number of participants.
Trench Safety Training Webinars: 1 Hour
- Periodically we host online Trench Safety Webinars. These free webinars are fast paced and cover various timely topics to the construction industry and excavations. View the handouts for “Trenching & Excavations – A 2020 View”
On the Menu Trench Safety Training: 1-2 Hours
- These trainings provide updates to trench safety requirements and regulations. We will even bring snacks. Schedule early morning “breakfast” meetings, lunch and learns or late afternoon “cookie breaks.”
Safety Meeting Guest Speaker: Duration Varies
- Schedule Greg Shreenan, Director of Training Services for Trench Shoring Company and Sr. Shoring Consultant for your association or safety training meetings.
